Bastian's 31 Birthday

Bastian turned 31 on July 31. I was preparing a little breakfast with a freshly baked cake. And of course he receiceved a lot of presents...

Bastian had a soccer tournament that day, but I suprised him in the evening with some selfmade tomato soup, grilled salmon and Tiramisu. I guess it was a bit too much food for the two of us. Afterwards it was "Gold Class" time: We watched Inception with Leonadrio di Caprio. As the Singaporeans would say "The movie was okay la", but we enjoyed a relaxed evening :O)

My stepsister Nadine and her boyfriend Steven visited us for a weekend in Singapore. It was a short, but enjoyable weekend, where we explored a lot of sights and new food. One of them were the so called century eggs.

First pretty excited....

... but once in your mouth, they are simply disgusting. According to a persistent myth, century eggs are, or once were, prepared by soaking eggs in horse urine. For me they just tasted like rotten eggs.



Brunch at P.S. Cafe the next day seems more pleasant to all of us.

The skydeck of the Marina Bay Sands Hotel just opened and we took the chance to enjoy the magnificient view.

We moved on to a beachbar at Sentosa. Bastian was so kind to offer us his "huge" towels for everybody to sit on them ;o)

Last dinner before Steven and Nadine had to leave: Our favorite Thai restaurant in the Amara hotel.

Family and Friends in Germany

After we had to work a week in Switzerland, we went on to Germany to visit family and friends. We had roughly a week and toured from South to North and covered five cities during that time.

First stop: We stayed a weekend in Munich to visit Bastian's siblings and nephew.


Next stop: Bastian's parents place in Veltheim. We had awesome weather and spent as much time outside as possible. His parents have a beautiful garden, where we were able to relax and enjoy the sun :O)

Bastian's parents surprised me with some birthday presents and different kinds of delicious self-made cakes.

During the summer time, you cannot miss a yami Spaghetti ice-cream.

But even before lunch?

Number 1 Currywurst in the world!

Or some BBQ in the garden.

Too much food is not that healthy, so let's play some footbal in the garden.

Playing football with the kids can be tiring?!?

Next stop: Weingut Sonnenberg in Bad Neuenahr. Bastian's sister owns a vineyard close to Cologne. We once gave my uncle a voucher for a wine tasting at Weingut Sonnenberg. So my family came over and we had a lot of fun together.

Without words:

I believe it was a "wineful" evening, which ended with Mum telling some funny jokes.

Next stop: Iserlohn to visit uncle and aunt. (More pics to follow here)

Last stop: Frankfurt, where we watched the match Germany against England and met with our university friend Jens.
